"God Is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth" - John 4:24 We are flesh and bones, physical beings, so our world is the physical world. We cannot see the spiritual world with our physical eyes. But just because we might not be able to see in the spiritual world doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. In reality the spiritual world is more real than the physical world.
To help understand how this all works, let us look at the air. You can’t see air, but it is very real and very necessary to live. When the air is not “moving” we can’t see, or feel it, but we know it is there because we would die without it. When the air moves it is called wind. And when the wind moves we can see the results and effects from it, even though we still can’t see it. God is a spirit being. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit is God, and God is Spirit. We can see Jesus but that is because He came in physical human form to die for us. So we cannot physically see God with our physical eyes. There are both evil and good spirit, evil spirits being for the devil and good spirits from God. Evil spirits are at work in the world also, and when they come, fear, death, sickness, disease, hopelessness, shame, pride, hate, etc. comes in. But when God moves or when evil spirits are at work in the world we can see physically the effect and results, but we cannot see them actually doing it. When the wind blows, the trees start swaying, things all of a sudden blow away… Just like that when God moves we see love and peace come upon people and when He moves, people can start crying or laughing and when He moves, people can start falling because God is at work on their hearts. When God moves, it changes people’s attitudes and lives, and hearts. When God moves, people get healed, people get delivered, people get joy, happiness, peace, and people get saved. You can't use you physical senses to see God but you can see its effects, like the sick getting healed, people’s attitudes changing. Jesus, God the Son, came in human form to show us God. He came physically to show us physically about Himself. In the Bible, Jesus said “If you see Me, you see the Father also.” John 14:7-11 (Paraphrased) An example in the Bible there was a women at the well who was fearful, alone and ashamed; but Jesus came and He brought forgiveness to her, and hope, and touched her heart. And she wasn't afraid or ashamed anymore but went and told all the people in the village about God and His forgiveness. Another example in the Bible was Zacchaeus, He was a cheating Tax-collector but he repaid the people he cheated when Jesus came into his life and changed his heart. He even gave half if his possession to the poor. So God is spirit, and we cannot see Him with our physical eyes. We are also spiritual beings but we live in a physical body in a physical world, and that limits us to seeing in the physical world. We can however ask God to open our eyes to see the spiritual world, and see what He wants to reveal to us. When God moves, great and amazing, wonderful things start to happen.
