"Do not say 'I am a youth,' for you shall go to all to whom I send you, and whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of their faces, for I am with you to deliver you," says the Lord. - Jeremiah 1:7-8
Here God is talking to Jeremiah and telling Him that He has given him a special mission and purpose. God is calling him, and Jeremiah tells God that he is just a child. Jeremiah thought he was too young, too inexperienced, not qualified enough to speak to people older and people "smarter" than him. But here God says "Don't let your age stop you from following me with your whole heart and life! If you follow me I will give you the words to speak, the strategy to use, where to go, what to do, and help you every step of the way." The next thing that God says is "Jeremiah do not be afraid of people, do not be afraid of people older than you, people with more degrees than you, more power than you, and more money than you.... Anyone and everyone I send to you, I will give you confidence and authority over them. So don't be afraid! Even if they try to hurt you, kill you, or cause you to be defeated and humiliated, I will defend you, help you, and deliver you!" God is faithful to save us in our trouble, and He will always help us when we do what He tells us to do. Don't let your age, fear of what others think, or fear of failure and opposition stop you from living your life fully for God. Don't let excuses stop you from being who God made you to be. If you do what God tells to do, He will honour and help you to the very end. "Moreover whom He (God) predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified." - Romans 8:30 (NKJV)
When God made us, He already had a special plan/calling for us. God predestined us, meaning He planned out us before He made us. God calls those who He made. God gives the talents, gifts, and justification/qualification for those that He called to His plan and purpose. And those who follow His plan for their lives, who He has already qualified, He will glorify and cause them to have success, and not fail or be humiliated. God calls each and every one of us to an awesome and magnificent plan and purpose. We call this our calling. Our God given calling was already thought out by God for each person on earth. As believers in Christ, and youth who know that our lives here on earth is not for just existing but for living out our God-given mission, we know that we each individually have a special calling. And we are not too young to start living it out, and becoming the leader God called us to be. A lot of times, we as young people, and even older people say "How can God use me? I am unqualified, I'm not worthy, I'm not smart enough, old enough, young enough, rich enough, educated enough"....... you get the picture. We let what we think of ourselves, and what other people think of us, define us. But God, the One who made you! He calls you more than enough, through Jesus, to finish the mission, and live out your calling. Don't disqualify yourself when God has already qualified you through Jesus. When we are qualified and we accept the calling God gives to us, God will glorify us. Because when we understand that we have a purpose and we know that God says that through Jesus we are qualified and worthy to do it, God will glorify us, and give us success so we can fulfill the mission, and give glory to God. God calls us. We have a purpose. Live your life to the glory of God. |
