In the busyness of things it is easy to forget to spend time with God. We are often busy as teens, with school and homework; tests and exams; family and friends. We just put God on the backburner, or to the back of our mind. We go to church on Sundays, and weekly small group meetings, and assume that it is enough, and that we are being “good” Christians. In our generation and culture, we are so used to thinking that God equals going to church on Sundays, meeting once for Bible study somewhere in the week, pray before we eat, occasionally put money in the offering; and that equals a good Christian life.
But No! When God came to die for us, he came to die for US…not our time, not our money, not our prayers, nor our once in a while quote of scriptures on Facebook/Instagram/Twitter/social media. He died so we could BE WITH HIM, have a RELATIONSHIP with Him, LOVE Him with our whole hearts, LIVE for Him! In our generation and culture we have become so numb and blind to the real meaning of Christianity. Christianity isn’t a religion. It’s a relationship with Jesus! Where He comes first! He is our number 1! Our Lover, our BFF, our Father, Our EVERYTHING. God isn’t asking for more people to come to church to just sit there week after week only to listen to a “good” sermon, then go and live life like He is just an afterthought. Jesus came to give us blessings, life, hope, peace, and EVERY good thing! But His heart’s cry is “My Child, My son, My daughter, come and talk to Me. Come and learn from Me, live your life for Me. Give your heart to Me, make Me your number one! I am peace! I am Joy! I am Fulfilment! I am Everything that you are looking for, and more! Just Talk with Me, Walk with Me, Listen to Me!” Put God first over all else, and He will bless you more than you can ever imagine! Make Him your number one, and everything else will fall into place. Jesus is the reason for living. Jesus is the reason we have our being. Jesus is what remains when one day everything else will fade away. The earth and everything on it will cease to exist…but Jesus remains the same yesterday, today, and forever. “Father God, Jesus! I choose to make You my number one in my life. I will honour You, praise You, and put You first in all I do. Help me, Jesus, to live my life for You. That I will have a personal and intimate relationship with You, where everything in my life changes! Thank You Jesus, for dying for me! Thank you for loving me! In Your name I pray, Amen.
